In 2009, a group of University researchers began the development of a fully immersive, consumer experience laboratory to quantify packaging design. In attempt to reduce the ambiguity and reliance on purely qualitative data, CUshop™ was constructed at the Harris A. Smith Building at Clemson University to pilot and confirm various biometric devices that could advance the packaging industry. Package InSight is a Clemson University start-up and partner who licenses the methodology, technology and state-of-the-art immersive retail environment to provide our clients with the absolute highest quality data concerning package performance, consumer attention and shelf impact. All studies are reviewed by university faculty, are tested with strict accordance to the established test methods and protocols and utilize the latest technology in biometric devices such as mobile eye-tracking.
We take pride in partnering with Clemson University's consumer experience laboratory at the Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics. We are committed to quality research and work alongside the best in the field.
Package InSight continues to grow in Greenville, South Carolina. With roots in the Clemson's MBA School and downtown Greenville's ONE N. Main building, the company started with a single desk in an incubator sponsored by the Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership. After some time at that single desk Package InSight was able to expand to the Clemson MBA accelerator with a little more elbow room and access to conference rooms.
Linking into the Greenville entrepreneurial ecosystem, Package InSight was able to move into flexible space offered by Next on Main - a Greenville Chamber of Commerce organization to foster an ecosystem of venture and job creation in the Upstate of South Carolina. Today, Package InSight lives in 2,000 square feet of commercial space on South Main Street - the West End district. Rooted in warehouses, textile mills, and bottling factories, the area is now the center of downtown with Falls Park on the Reedy and a host of shopping, restaurants, and retail. With continued growth Package InSight aims to utilize the local foot traffic and create a secondary retail laboratory at this location.
